ABOUT MIRIAM

My arts practice combines painting and poetry. I draw continually on my career experience in the field of conflict resolution, where creativity is of central concern.

I hold an M.A in Comparative Aesthetics and the Arts from U.C.C and a Bachelor of Social Science degree from UCD. Beginning many years ago with extramural studies in Life Drawing at N.C.A.D I continue my ongoing development as an artist, attending skills training on a regular basis.

I am a member of Visual Artists Ireland and Cork Non Fiction Writers Group. I live and work in Cork city.

ABOUT MY WORK

My arts practice combines painting and poetry. I draw continually on my career experience in the field of conflict resolution, where creativity is of central concern.

Over time I’ve studied and been inspired by the cross-fertilisation of east/west arts traditions. I find in their images and words, harmonies that resonate with potential for healing. In the images and poems I create, the themes of connection, difference and synergy are at play.

I love to draw using inks and work mostly in oils when painting.
